Return to Play: Simple ways you can help people return to sport and physical activity

Posted: Wed, 28 Apr 2021 12:30

With lockdown restrictions continuing to ease in line with the Government roadmap, many forms of sport and physical activity have now returned.

To help make this experience as attractive and enjoyable as possible for participants, Sport England have highlighted 'five simple ways you can help people return to sport and physical activity'.

These tips, based on recent insights around attitudes, intentions and feelings about getting back into activity, can help sports clubs and other providers consider how to make the best of their return to activity and include:

  • Showcasing your safety measures
  • Emphasising the enjoyment factor
  • Showing the benefits, not telling the benefits

  • Focus on keeping it cheap or free

To view these tips in full, visit the Sport England Return to Play page, where you can also check for information on current restrictions and explore the detailed return to play insights.
